Thanks, ladies. It was at least three inches long, yet I wasn't startled at all when I spotted it. My first thoughts were, "Hmm, look at that. Wait, where's my camera?"

Thank you. To answer your question, yes and no. No, unfortunately the cam has not been found, but I've since changed jobs, so yes I'm out of having to deal with that situation. The value of the missing camera <$500 wasn't enough to make the police do anything, except make a report and leave me their business card.
